The series is inspired by K-dramas and South Korean pop culture. It consists of approximately 23 episodes, each lasting one to three minutes.
About the show:
The disciplined prima ballerina Sara (Gio Yoo) lives under the enormous pressure of her parents’ expectations and hides her love for K-pop as well as her dream of a life in Seoul until she meets Daniel (Alexander Schmidt) at school, a cool musical talent who shakes up more than just Sara’s world of dance. As feelings develop between the two, conflicts intensify with family expectations, personal fears, and Sara’s inner conflict—not least due to the fragile “frenemy” dynamic with her ambitious friend Isa (Lisa Junick). When it turns out that Daniel’s father is Sara’s father’s longtime arch-enemy, Sara must decide whether she can find the courage to stand up for her love and her own dreams.
Vertical dramas are fictional series produced specifically in portrait (vertical) format, just as smartphones are used in everyday life. Content in the 9:16 format is optimized for playback on mobile devices and platforms such as TikTok. The short episodes enable serial storytelling in a form that adapts to mobile viewing habits and opens up new avenues to younger target audiences.
